ESC Substitute Program Merges with Renhill Group

The Renhill Group will provide substitute teachers and aides to our Preschool Program.  When you process your substitute paperwork with the ESC, you will have a choice to sign up with Renhill to participate in their substitute placement program.  The ESC/Renhill partnership also include Field Local Schools, Revere Local Schools and Wadsworth City Schools.  For more information, contact Lori Johnston at extension 513918.

The Family and Medical Leave Act

The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) provides for leaves of absence for eligible staff members (who have worked for the ESC for at least 12 months and for at least 1,250 hours over the 12 months prior to the leave request) for one of the following reasons: (1) the birth of a child and/or the care of a newborn child within one year of the child’s birth; (2) the placement of a child with the staff member by way of adoption or foster care and/or to care for the child within one year of the child’s arrival; (3) the staff member is needed to care for a spouse, son, daughter,or parent if such individual has a serious health condition; or (4) the staff member’s own serious health condition prevents him/her from performing the functions of his/ her position.

If you have situations such as those mentioned above or anticipate being in one of those situations, please contact Tracie Collins to talk about the leave provisions available to you. Typically, a written request in advance of such leave is necessary. There are implications for pay and health insurance benefits during an FMLA leave period so it is very important that you talk to Tracie.
