Lesson Summary:The students will become familiar with the effects industrialization had on immigration to the United States, child labor and the labor force. After reading and discussing from various sources, they will be able to explain that immigration increased due to new work opportunities, that young children suffered many hardships in the workplace, and that the labor force began to organize and use strikes to improve working conditions.
